MEDFORD, Mass. – In celebration of MASS STEM Week 2025, on Thursday, October 23, Medford Public Schools (MA) displayed its new Middle School robotics curriculum to state and city leaders, including Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Massachusetts Secretary of Education Patrick Tutwiler, and City of Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn.

Esteemed guests visited the McGlynn Middle School to see the district’s new partnership with ROBOTIX C360, an educational robotics solution for schools that unites structured, standards-aligned curriculum with an adaptive, easy-to-use learning environment for students. The program also provides real-time insight for educators and measurable evidence of learning for school leaders.

“The ROBOTIX C360 program has brought much excitement to the classroom for both our students and staff members,” said Medford Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Suzanne B. Galusi. “Students learn best when they are engaged in their learning, and this program aligns perfectly with our district instructional vision. We are so appreciative of Lt Governor Driscoll, Secretary Dr. Tutwiler, Mayor Lungo-Koehn, and the ROBOTIX C360 team for taking the time to visit our McGlynn Middle School.”

During their visit, guests observed McGlynn Middle School Grade 8 students create code to test the effectiveness of their robotic designs. The program returned immediate feedback to students, who then explained the results to impressed onlookers. The lesson was facilitated by McGlynn Middle School Science Teacher Ms. Dakota Manchester.

“These kids are so incredibly smart and crafty in their ability to say ‘I’ll do this part, and you do that part’”, Lt Gov Driscoll told Fox25 after visiting the classroom. “They get along better than most adults do!”

Medford Public Schools is one of a few schools around the country to introduce the program into the classroom. By the end of the 2025-26 school year, over 800 Grade 6-8 students at both the Andrews and McGlynn Middle Schools will have experienced this innovative classroom learning material that aligns with the Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) state standards.
