Roberts Elementary Make Up Day Announcement

Roberts Elementary Make Up Day Announcement

Dear Roberts Elementary Families & Caregivers,

Following discussions with district leadership, school leadership, our transportation & community partners, and reviewing survey data collected from our Roberts Community, the two lost school days at the Roberts will be made up on the following days:

  • Tuesday, March 3, 2026
  • Tuesday, June 23, 2026*
    • Currently scheduled as the next school day after the last day of school
    • *Subject to change based on future snow days/unexpected school closings

Both of these school days will be an Early Release Day, with student dismissal at 12 p.m.

On Tuesday, March 3, this previously scheduled Professional Development Day will be an Early Release Day for Roberts students, with student dismissal at 12 p.m. Professional Development for staff members will take place in the afternoon following student dismissal.

All other students in the district will not have school on Tuesday, March 3, and all other staff will engage in previously scheduled professional development.

Tuesday, June 23, 2026 is currently scheduled as the next school day after the last day of school. MPS was closed on Monday and Tuesday of this week due to snow, pushing the last day of school across the district to now be on Monday, June 22.

As a reminder, in accordance with DESE Guidelines that state all elementary schools must be in session for 180 Calendar Days, these two lost school days need to be made up during the 2025/26 School Year. These two days of school that will be made up apply to Roberts students and staff only. All other schools will follow the MPS 25/26 district calendar.

MPS After School at the Roberts will be open on Tuesday, March 3 and on Tuesday, June 23. MPS Transportation Services will also be available for students who normally get picked up at home in the morning and dropped off at home in the afternoon.

Thank you for your partnership and understanding,

Sincerely,

Suzanne B. Galusi, Interim Superintendent of Medford Public Schools

Michelle Crowell, Roberts Elementary Principal
