Dear Medford Public Schools Community:

This week has finally brought some measurable snow to Medford, but we are halfway through January and we haven’t had any major winter weather challenges. We all know that this is New England and we have still have to make it through February and March. As we move through winter I hope you and your family find time to enjoy weekends together whatever the weather may be.

This Sunday, January 22nd marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year and the celebrations last for seven days. In the Year of the Rabbit, I would like to wish all our Asian families who celebrate a happy and healthy Lunar New Year. The Rabbit embodies the yin, or the passive principle of the universe, which means the new year will bring with it the hope that people will be able to lead a more relaxed and balanced life.

Counseling Support at Medford Public Schools

As part of our 10-Point Action Plan, we want to make sure every student and parent/guardian in the Medford Public Schools is aware of counseling and other mental health services available in our schools and through community providers. We’ve updated our website with additional resources.

We would like to invite all members of our school community to like and follow our district Facebook page. As we have improved our website presence this year we will also be expanding our social media presence in the coming weeks. We will be posting frequently to these pages, starting with the existing Facebook page, to accentuate all of the great things our faculty, staff, and students are doing on a daily basis.

Hiring Paraprofessionals, Substitutes, Before and After Care Staff, and Building Monitors
