Joint Statement From the MSC & MTA - 1.7.25 Bargaining Update
The Medford School Committee (MSC) and the Medford Teachers Association (MTA) have jointly announced the beginning of negotiations pertaining to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The groups met in late December and have scheduled five negotiation meetings in the next two months. The current contract between the two parties, which began on September 1, 2021, is set to expire on August 31, 2025.
Both bargaining parties acknowledge the important role these negotiations play in the shared mission for continuous improvement and exceptional student outcomes in the school district. The parties enter the talks in good faith and are committed to upholding the district’s shared values of achievement, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Both parties recognize that there are many topics to address in this negotiation and are committed to working together to create a better district for students in the Medford Public Schools. The parties recognize that this process will take many months and thank everyone in advance for allowing the teams the space to do this important work.
