Volunteers Needed for Creation of Non-Profit in Support of MHS Building Project

MEDFORD - The City of Medford and the Medford Public Schools are seeking volunteers to lead the creation and development of a 501(c)(3) non-profit to support fundraising efforts for the Medford High School building project. 

The to-be-created non-profit will work to raise donations to support non-reimbursable aspects of the project. If you are interested in volunteering with this non-profit organization, please complete an application form here. 

Prior experience in fundraising campaigns, major gifts, donor relations, philanthropy, or strategic communications is preferred. 

“The Medford High School Building Project is the most ambitious project our city has ever attempted, and every day we wait, costs continue to rise,” said Jenny Graham, chair of the Medford Comprehensive High School Building Committee. “The formation of this non-profit organization will be tremendously beneficial to increase engagement in the project, find solutions to complex problems, and ultimately drive down the financial impact to our residents. I am eager to see this group form and collaborate in support of our Medford students.”

"We have the opportunity to deliver a truly transformative High School facility for our students and families that not only supports key educational priorities but significantly enhances opportunities for student success,” Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said. “While we want to go beyond simple needs, we also must be mindful of associated costs. That’s why this fundraising committee is so important to the overall success of this project. I’m eager to see how this vision will be shaped by fundraising efforts and look forward to working collaboratively on this important shared goal for Medford.”

Earlier this summer, the Medford Comprehensive High School Building Committee (SBC) voted to select design C2.2A as the singular design option for the project’s Preferred Schematic Report (PSR). The PSR submission is currently awaiting approval from the MSBA following its June 25 submission.

“This will need to be a collaborative effort in order for us to provide additional funding for projects and services that serve all members of our community, “ said Liz Mullane, City Councilor.  “We want to make sure we’ve tried every avenue to bring additional resources to our City in order to lower costs for our residents.”
