Kindergarten Registration

Welcome to Medford Public Schools! To enroll in Kindergarten for the Fall of 2026, your child must turn 5 before September 1, 2026.

Kindergarten Registration will open on January 5, 2026. To enroll in Kindergarten, you must bring the following documents to the Registration Office:

  • Proof of Parent/Guardian/Caregiver Identity: Driver's License, MA Photo ID; or Passport
    • If Legal Guardian, a Custody Agreement must be provided
  • Proof of Residency: 2 utility bills dated within 60 days (accepted: gas, electricity, oil, cable, home internet) or a lease
    • If a a student of caregiver are living with a relative that is a Medford resident, then the following are required:
  • Registration Packet
  • Birth Certificate (original, translated and certified if not in English)
  • Recent Immunizations
  • Copy of latest physical exam (dated within 12 months of registration date)
  • Tuberculosis risk assessment or skin test results
    • If born outside of the US, results of PPD or blood test must be submitted to nurses office
  • Preschool and Kindergarten: Lead screening results
  • Physician documentation of a vision screening including stereopsis (depth perception) exam

Registrations cannot be processed unless all of the above-required documents are received.

Welcome to Kindergarten

For families interested in learning more about Kindergarten in Medford Public Schools, we will be hosting Welcome to Kindergarten Information sessions ahead of the 2026/27 school year. These events are only open to families with prospective Grade K students. 

Join us at one of the following dates! All sessions begin at 6:30 p.m.

  • Thursday, January 22 at Medford High School
  • Wednesday, February 25 on Zoom
  • Wednesday, March 25 at the McGlynn 

The Medford Registration Office will be open until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 22 and will be on-site at the McGlynn on Wednesday, March 25 to accept Kindergarten registrations.
