Superintendent Evaluation

Under Massachusetts laws and state regulations, the Superintendent of Schools is appointed and evaluated by the members of the School Committee. Each year, the School Committee conducts a professional evaluation of the Superintendent's performance.

Guided by the Superintendent Evaluation Subcommittee of the School Committee, members evaluate the Superintendent's professional goals, accomplishments and overall performance using the Massachusetts Model System for Educator Evaluation designed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Specifically, the School Committee and Superintendent collaborate each year to develop professional practice goals and evaluate performance using this model.
