Superintendent Entry Findings

Following ten months of serving the district as Interim Superintendent, Dr. Galusi shared her entry findings with the MPS community at the Sixteenth Regular Meeting of the Medford School Committee on Monday, October 20, 2025. Dr. Galusi identified strengths and weaknesses throughout the district grounded in three themes.

  • Belonging: 
    • Every student feels known, safe, and valued.
  • Consistency: 
    • Every student experiences high-quality, grade-level learning in a safe, well-maintained environment.
  • Coherence: 
    • Every system, from instruction to communication to facilities, works together to support learning.

Superintendent's Transition Plan

After beginning in her role as Interim Superintendent on January 18, Dr. Galusi shared her transition plan with the MPS community at the Second Regular Meeting of the Medford School Committee on Monday, January 29, 2025. Dr. Galusi's plan is to:

  • Ensure a thoughtful transition from the previous superintendent to the interim superintendent
  • Provide an outline for and convey information related to the mid-year transition of the superintendent, ensuring consistency and stability for the school district
  • Inform the school community about transition activities and to continue building relationships
