MEEP Application Process

The MEEP application window for students without disabilities is open from April 1 until April 30 each year. In the event any class is oversubscribed, returning students are given preference. After returning students are placed, any remaining oversubscribed classes will have a lottery on or before May 15. The first round of the lottery includes only applicants who are 4 years old by August 31 of the present year. If there are any remaining slots, another round of the lottery will be conducted for applicants who are three by August 31 of the present year.

Applications must be received by April 30 to be eligible for the May lottery. In the event that your child does not get into a class of your choice, you can opt for your child to be placed on a waiting list. The Waitlist is maintained until January 31 and does not carry over to the following school year.

Families will be notified by email of placement determination within ten days of the lottery. Families must confirm their acceptance of the placement by June 30 by email to MEEPpreschool@medford.k12.ma.us. In additional to tuition there is a yearly $60.00 registration fee. Activation of an account in the FACTS payment system and the nonrefundable $60.00 registration fee must be submitted by July 31 in order to secure the child’s placement.

Applications are accepted throughout the year for any openings available after the lottery.

After your child has received a placement determination letter the following must be done to complete your child’s enrollment process and to be eligible to attend MEEP:
